Tobacco Free * Japan: Recommendations for Tobacco Control Policy

Currently, in Japan, approximately 50% of the male population and 15% of the female population smoke tobacco. Smoking has been proven to be the cause of many health-related problems, and the Surgeon General's Report on smoking is an important step toward better health. Key health and tobacco experts in the U.S. and Japan were brought together to collaborate on the document which was released in 2003.
