Site Product Manager


Job Description

As a member of the Content Team, this candidate will be at the forefront of HealthCentral’s web sites, helping manage several of more than 30 condition-specific sites. This candidate will have the opportunity to help build new tools, recruit new bloggers and help millions of health seekers find health information important to them. The HealthCentral’s dynamic environment calls for constant innovative thinking and teamwork and is a great place for young individuals to learn about the online industry.

Responsibilities:

Manage five online health sites with a focus on content quality and accuracy

Strategically build new content packages, write and edit new articles guides and offerings for health seekers

Learn and carry out Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices

Coordinate, hire and manage teams of bloggers and professional writers to produce new content

Assign articles and blog post topics to bloggers and physicians

Help develop interactive tools and other site products as needed to engage site audiences, drive site registration and foster active communities on the sites

Gauge online industry trends and marketing opportunities, including viral and online guerilla marketing such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

Qualifications include:

Excellent writing skills

Excellent copy writing skills for the web

Familiarity with AP Style a plus, but not required

Understanding and implementation of best SEO practices as it applies to content

Familiarity with social networking methods and applications

Familiarity with health-related blogs a plus
