Vaccine Preventable Disease Program
H1N1 - Public Health Representative 2
(Special Services - Hourly Paid Position)
Purpose:
To give support to the Vaccine Preventable Disease Program (VPDP) staff with H1N1 vaccine orders from health care providers and to assist with site visits of selected providers.
Job Duties:
Will assist the VPDP with H1N1provider enrollment and verification process (e.g., follow-up phone inquiries with health care providers, review of provider enrollment forms). Will perform periodic site visits of health care provider offices to ensure that appropriate vaccine storage protocols are followed (e.g., review of refrigerator temperature logs, review of data entry processes). Provide assistance in the preparation of data for the VPDP surveillance and epidemiology staff, and will help man the Emergency Communication Center (ECC) if it is activated. May be called on to assist with emergency response activities outside of normal business hours.
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree, plus two years of experience in a health or social service related program involving responsibility for interviewing, investigating, or conducting public health care surveys or patient care services. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis. Qualified candidates should possess a valid New Jersey drivers license and have own transportation.
Knowledge & Skills:
· Knowledge of public health methods of disease detection, prevention and control.
· Knowledge of the methods in which communicable diseases are spread and controlled.
· Knowledge of immunization programs.
· Knowledge of the techniques used to collect and analyze data.
· Ability to conduct surveys, studies, investigations, and prepare reports of findings.
· Ability to confer with physicians, nurses, patients, registrars, and other department public programs.
· Ability to prepare case histories and reports, and collect, compile and evaluate data.
$25.62 - $29.17 per hour commensurate with experience - NO BENEFITS
