Q: How many photos may I enter?

A: You may enter a total of five (5) photographs, as stated in the Official Rules.

Q: Do I, as the photographer, retain all rights to my photographs?

A: Yes. Photographers retain all rights to their photographs. For more information, please read the Official Rules regarding how we may use the photo entries.

Q: How do I know if you received my photographs?

A: A confirmation page will be displayed after each photograph is entered.

Q: May I enter photographs taken in previous years?

A: Yes. Photographs taken in the past are certainly allowed. There is no time period limitation.

Q: May Johns Hopkins University employees participate in this photo contest?

A: No. Only those with a jhsph.edu email address may enter. The contest is only open to faculty, staff, students and alumni of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Q: May I enter a photograph with recognizable adults or children?

A: Yes. However, please download the model release forms for parents or guardians of children under the age of 18 or for adults who are recognizable in the photograph.

For those who do not want to ask individuals in their photographs to sign a release, a good rule of thumb for taking photographs with people in them is to make sure that the person(s) in the photograph are facing away from the camera or are far enough away as to not be easily identifiable.

Q: I am an alum, but I do not have a jhsph.edu email address. How can I get one?

A: Please visit the Alumni Email Forwarding Service page at https://apps2.jhsph.edu/alumniemailalias/ and follow the directions from there.
